The descendants of Lorenzetti + Talaveri

We are the descendants of Maria Talaveri and Nicolás Lorenzetti, who lived in Italy in the 1800's. Their son was Alejandro [Alessandro] Lorenzetti Talaveri, born in Italy in the year between 1849 and 1850 and died in Saya, Lima, Peru on . Alejandro emigrated to Peru in by the before 1878. Through this blog we hope to get in touch with other people who descend from the same Talaveri-Lorenzetti Line, or maybe find more about the Talaveri surname in Italy.

NAME

In Peru, his name was Alejandro Lorenzetti; however, it is almost certain that he changed his name from Alessandro Lorenzetti to Alejandro Lorenzetti when he emigrated to Peru. 

DATE OF BIRTH

We don´t know for certain his exact date of birth. He died at the age of 66, on February 12th, 1915. So it is safe to assume that his year of birth was 1849 or anytime between jan and feb 1850

PLACE OF BIRTH

In all the civil records we have found of him, does´t say anything about where in Italy he was from. In his death certificate from the Parish it say that he is italian. However, he still has a grand-daughter who still lives and she recalls that his grandfather told her he came from Porto di Ancona, we don´t know whether he meant he was born there or he sailed from there to Southamerica.

TALAVERI SURNAME (THE JEWISH LINK)

The Lorenzetti surname is very common in Italy, but the Talaveri surname isn't. His death certificate says his father was Nicolas Lorenzetti and his mother was Maria Talaveri. I have made some research on the “Talaveri” surname on the internet, and it is jewish origin, specifically sephardic jewish (Talavery is a jewish surname from Spain). The surname TALAVERI  is very rare in Italy, and there are only traces of that surname in the records of the Jewish expelled from Spain in the XV century. I have found that surname in the white telephone pages of Israel and in a doctorate  Thesis called "SOCIAL TENSIONS WITHIN XV CENTURY HISPANO-JEWISH COMMUNITIES” You can find it here (page 242): http://discovery.ucl.ac.uk/1317921/1/300396.pdf

YEAR OF ARRIVAL TO PERU

The first person he fathered was Alejandro Isaac Lorenzetti (notice Isaac is mostly a jewish name), who was baptized on October 6th 1878, so he arrived to Peru at least 9 months before that date to Peru. At the time of the baptism he was about 29 years old.

OTHER RELEVANT INFORMATION

The surviving grand-daughter also says that she was told a long time ago, when she was a child, that there were three Lorenzetti brothers, one emigrated to Peru and became an agriculture, the other one went to Argentina and dedicated to animal farming and the other went to Brazil. The one in Brazil apparently founded a company dedicated to industrial manufacturing of electric devices. There are no more local records to dig here, there are no traces in passenger records from those years, nor migratory records. Only in 1915 the peruvian government started to keep official immigration records and profiles of immigrants.

CONCLUSIONS ARRIVED THROUGH DEBORA RESEARCH (OUR PREVIOUS RESEARCHER IN NEW YORK)

Debora says that there are no military records of Alessandro Lorenzetti (I have attached the response she had about the from Ancona), and all the research on the birth records in Ancona so far has returned inconclusive. So it is likely that he DEPARTED from Ancona instead of had been born there.

We hope that through this Blog we can get in touch with other descendants of the Lorenzetti-Talaveri blood line, either in Peru or any other place in the world, in order to find out more about where we come from. Also we would like to get in touch with people who have the Talaveri surname.
